With some savings still in tact from my placement year, myself and my friend Charlotte spent one month traveling on a variety of buses around Argentina and Brazil.
Starting in Buenos Aires..
Crossed the border from Puerto Iguassu into Brazil. We saw the waterfalls, Cataratas Del Iguazu, from the Argentinean and Brazilian sides. Fortunately it was sunny in Brazil.
The Pantanal, a wetlands with a ridiculous amount of wildlife. Unfortunately we didn't see any jaguars, still, giant rivers otters, armadillos, howler monkeys, toucans, macaws and the jabiru stalk isn't bad.
A short trip of five hours to Bonito but in a minibus with no roads it was much worse than our twenty hour overnight buses. Stayed two nights, went to a cave with very blue water and snorkeling in very clear water.
Sao Paulo, I was worryingly happy to be back in a city.
Along to Paraty, a very quaint Portuguese colonial port town.
Finally Rio de Janeiro, the gap between rich and the poor was unmistakably apparent.
